Always sad to hear of a fellow bowler passing away. I had the pleasure of playing Ray on Garden Village in the 2008 season and thoroughly enjoyed the game although I was getting frustrated with his constant chatter and the fact that he knew where my bowls were going to end up as soon as they left my hand. Think i got about 14 against him that day.
Ray always went out of his way to make the game enjoyable always had a laugh and joke but also took the game seriously.
Condolences to all his family and friends.

I heard the news late this afternoon. My thoughts go out to Hilary and family. I know he had been unwell for a while.
He was a top man and a top bowler. A gentleman on and off the green who always had a grin on his face and a joke for everyone. He will be sorely missed by all the clubs he represented and especially me. He was a friend of the family who taught me to play the game the way it should be played, with a smile on your face. I believe everyone who was lucky enough to meet him will remember him this way.
From all the Rogers family, Rest in Peace Ray, gone but never forgotten. |

So sad to hear of Rays' passing, he was alwaya a pleasure to meet & play against ,never gave anything or took anything, was always scrupulously fair. As others have said a true gentleman and a great ambassador of our sport. The condolences of all at Ifton Bowls club go out to Rays' family at this sad time.
RIP Ray. |

Everything said about Ray is spot on, he was playing at Garden Village along with his brother Bob when I first started in the sixties, his brother packed in because he didn't like to loose so Ray told me once, unlike Ray who as said you could not really tell whether he was winning or loosing a game although more often than not he won !!
My wife got to know him in later years through her working in the Chemist across the road from where he lived, he was always joking with her about different things, she called him Raymond Parry, no I said its Ray Parry.
Rest in Peace Ray... _________________ Blessed Are The Cracked, For It Is They Who Let In The Light..
